The Bronco and Ranger's cooling system is fine for some drivers, but those who are pushing the limits of these rigs will put a strain on the factory system. However, it's not just those with added power and hardcore off-roaders that can benefit from an upgraded cooling system. Many overlanders, campers, and more casual off-road goers add a lot of weight and drag to their rigs. Accessories like Roof mounted tents, campers, spare tires, fuel cans, and/or towing can put a lot of extra strain on both the engine and cooling system. An upgraded radiator can mean the difference between non-stop action, and having to give your engine a break to recover from overheating or heat soak.

The legendary Bronco returned to the market in 2021 to the delight of many long-time enthusiasts and this year (2024), Ford released the latest Ranger models. Both the Bronco and Ranger are capable off-roaders, especially the new Ranger Raptor. Unfortunately, the Bronco 2.3L/2.7L and all Ranger Models don’t come with the upgraded cooling system found on the Bronco Raptor. Heat can be a huge problem for off-road rigs and can quickly put a damper on your adventures. An upgraded radiator is the best way to combat overheating and heat soak.

Design & Engineering

CSF has a long and successful track record with off-road cooling systems. CSF produces some of the most popular and widely used performance radiators for a variety of off-road applications. In addition, this new Bronco/Ranger Radiator features CSF’s latest Ultra-Efficient 5mm fin cooling technology. The new fin technology increases the heat transfer area over a traditional radiator by 20-25%.

CSF vs OEM

The original OE radiator from Ford is a plastic tank radiator with a single row aluminum core design. While this is generally accepted as good quality and durable, it has its limits. Those limits start to show in serious off-road builds, those running higher boost, and adventurers with a lot of added weight.

The CSF radiator features the latest 5mm fin technology. The smaller fin height significantly increases the heat exchange surface area improving overall cooling efficiency and recovery. A larger 2-Row 42mm aluminum core (vs 1-row OEM 28mm core) increases the core volume of the radiator by ~38%. This greatly improves the cores ability to dissipate heat and increases overall fluid capacity. CSF’s Exclusive B-Tube Technology improves heat transfer by approximately 15% over regular oval welded tubes. In addition, the ultra-efficient multi-louvered fins maximize airflow through the core for the best possible performance.

The TIG-Welded 100% All Aluminum construction increases the overall strength of the radiator. This improves durability and longevity so you can be confident it will hold up to hard driving conditions. The CSF radiator mounts in the factory location and requires no modifications or cutting to install.
